Angels Home

Angels' Home is an outreach project that was started in 2002 by a Korean missionary couple, Daniel and Grace Noh. The project was born out of a need identified in the Ficksburg district to care for orphaned children, until suitable foster care or adoptive parents could be found for them.

Currently, there are 11 children who are being cared for, ranging from 1 to 8 years of age.

The children are cared for by four volunteers, who help the Noh family. To date, only one child has been adopted, by a family in Ficksburg, who fell in love with him, after taking him out for a weekend.

The other children have been taken into residential care at Angels' Home, and are now part of the family. Angels' Home endeavours to make a Christian home for the children, teaching them good Christian values. The first person to volunteer in the project is Mme Matshidiane. She lives with the children, and one of the children started calling her "Mommy", needless to say, this caught on like wildfire and this is how she is now known. She has given her best to developing the children at Angels' Home, teaching them and helping the older children with their homework. "Mommy" never misses a PTA meeting or school concert, and has earned the respect of our town.

If no adoptive or suitable foster family is found, Daniel and his family are committed to supporting these children until they have finished their school careers, and are married. They would appreciate any support greatly.

Sunbeam Kids will be building a preschool class for the children at Angel's Home who are not yet in school to ensure that the children have the benefit of an early education. We expect the building to be completed by the end of February.

We also accept donations of behalf of Angel's Home. Please be sure to indicate that your donation is for Angel's Home.

Thank you to Geoff and Lisa Reiser who donated money for the older children's school fees.
